The Sacré-Cœur, started in 1875 and finished in 1914, is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica. It was built to commemorate the Sacred Heart of Jesus, to remind all of the vision of a loving and sympathetic Christ. Right at the top of the butte Montmartre, this stunning building is the highest point in the city and remains a political and cultural monument and an embodiment of moral order.
