With an area of about 843 acres, Central Park is a massive green lung for the densely populated city of New York. Decreed to be formed on July 21, 1853 by the New York State Legislature, Central Park was America’s first ever landscaped park. With a myriad of events and sights, the park has a lot to offer visitors of all ages. Among the most popular attractions are the Alice in Wonderland sculpture, the lake, the Conservatory Garden, the Bethesda Terrace with Minton tile ceiling and the Belvedere Castle.
